Shakespeare: Play in a Day
Afraid of Shakespeare?
Intimidated? Bored? Don’t get it?
The famous Bard is quite Bawdy, Brutal, and Brilliant – so what’s not to love?
Shakespeare wrote for the masses (and for money), he coined his own words, created plots and characters with humour, bawdiness, and battles, so why are we so afeared? (it’s that language thing, right?)
Come join us for our one day intensives where we tackle a different play in a day as we learn more about Shakespeare’s language, rhythms, and characters and how to bring them to life.
Shakespeare:
Play in a Day
Shakespeare in a Single Day!
From puppetry to mask-work, improvisation and creative movement, we will work our magic and create a short Shakespearean performance in one single day!
We begin with a basic intro to Shakespeare (from insults to compliments to sonnets and battles), move on to language exploration and character development on our way to building our own Shakespeare.
Pack a lunch, we’ll have snacks on hand, and we’ll work from 10am-4:30pm. We’ll take a short dinner break (on your own) from 4:30-5:15pm and then your stage call is 5:15pm with a performance for friends and family at 5:30pm!
