Creative Drama & Creative Movement, ages 3-5
Tuesdays, 4:30-5:15pm begins week of Oct 24
Exploring movement through dance and music, we will work on developing rhythm, coordination, self-confidence, self-expression, and social-emotional skills all in a fun, developmentally appropriate class as we make new friends and build teamwork.
Together we will dance, play with physical movement, use scarves and ribbons and balls, and even more important, have fun! Adults are welcome to play along!
Young Playmakers, ages 6-8
Mondays, 4:30-5:15pm begins week of Oct 24
Act, sing, dance, drum, paint, and play! From monsters to aliens, wizards to wild things, and other wacky characters, we'll stomp, sing, dance, read our way through books, stories and tales!
Creative Drama for ages 6-8 provides a strong foundation of the performing arts as we develop creativity and imagination, social skills, academic skills, and our self-awareness and self-expression.
Young Actors Studio
Saturday 3-hr intensives $50/session

Intro to Acting, Movement, Mime, and Puppetry. Come join us in the studio as we develop our performance, team-building, self-awareness, and self-expression skills. No experience necessary.

Let's Drum - Family Drumming
From pots and pans to bongos, djembes, gathering drums, tambourines, congas, and other percussion instruments, we'll explore sound, rhythm, patterns, and self-expression. We'll work on both individual and group drumming as we develop well-being, increased awareness, self confidence, and community.
Time for Warrior Women to take care of our bodies through gentle stretching and toning. The class offers activities that can be performed sitting, standing or lying on the floor offering multiple exercises to help reduce pain and stiffness, maintain and improve mobility, muscle strength and function. And it's all done in a fun, welcoming environment.
We'll use pop dance moves from salsa to swing to English country dance and others (you get to help pick music and dances) in our own Warrior Women Dance Club.

On The Air: Podcasting & Livestreaming 101 for Tweens and Teens
Love to tell stories? Join us for this intro to podcasting and livestreaming as we bring to life the stories in your head, read-aloud classic stories, practice interview skills, and develop our vocalization and storytelling techniques.
We'll look at best practices for podcast planning and livestreaming and we'll record and go live!
Fundamentals of Acting
How do we capture the essence of a character?
This studio class begins with core techniques to build a strong foundation for rehearsals and performance. Acting techniques, script analysis, movement for the actor, improvisation, and more.
We'll explore the basics of several acting techniques (Meisner, Stanislavski, Chekhov, Adler) as well as movement basics (Alexander, Laban, Viewpoints) as we develop our physical, vocal, and emotional skills.
Movement for the Actor
A strong physical presence is crucial to the actor.
This course will introduce you to the basic methods of movement study including Alexander, Feldenkrais, Grotowski, Lecoq, Laban, and Viewpoints.
We will work on loosening and strengthening the body while developing expression, imagination, and learning to manifest the workings of the mind through physical expression.

Beginning Sept 1, you will be able to find Tempest Productions , VanDance Inc, and the Central PA Theatre & Dance Fest in their new home theatre arts studio at 140 Kelly Alley, State College. Formerly the home to Movement Arts Studio, this space offers an eclectic theatre arts setting for our variety of programs as well as a traditional dance studio space.
The Open House Series begins Sept 12 and runs through Sept 23 with free classes, meetings, readings, and other events. Join us, try something new, and make new friends as we grow our arts community. Fall Classes & Workshops begin on Sept 25.
Tempest Productions began in 1996 in NYC and Hoboken, NJ and extended to PA in 2002. In 2018, Tempest created and produced the Central PA Theatre & Dance Fest, now in its 6th year.
