I See a Star, a new musical based on the Hans Christian Anderson tale of The Little Match Girl book by James P. Colbert & Cynthia Mazzant, music by David W. Radulich, lyrics by James P. Colbert
I See a Star follows the tale of a young girl named Emma and her search for love and family. This new musical, based on the Hans Christian Anderson tale of The Little Match Girl, brings to life the dreams and aspirations of a young orphaned girl trying to make her way in a society that barely acknoqledges her existence.
Designed for the whole faimly, this new musical embraces our hopes & dreams and discovers the true meaning of family and friendship.

James P. Colbert (Librettist/Lyricist). James is a singer/songwriter who has been performing his original works in various venues as well as creating scripts for the stage including the series, Act IV, which Tempest produced in 2001. James has worked with Tempest over the past few years as a member of the creative team to adapt children's classics. He currently serves as an Art Director, is a member of the board of directors for Acoustic Brew (a producing organization for folk performances) and has recently published his first CD entitled Song Sketches.

David W. Radulich (Composer).David has served as a composer/lyricist for numerous musicals including The Great Hall, which had its NYC premiere at the Sanford Meisner Theatre in 1997 produced by Tempest Productions. David is also currently an Arts Supervisor for the Jersey City Visual & Performing Arts Department in the Jersey City Board of Education developing and implementing programming in music and theatre within Jersey City. David has worked within the arts in Hudson County for over 20 years.

Cynthia M. Mazzant (Librettist/Director). Cynthia is a memberof the Society for Stage Directors and Choreographers, the union representing professional directors & choreographers and a member of The Dramatists Guild for writers. Cynthia has written an adpatation of Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter, produced in the fall of 2003, and has written various adaptations of other children's classics. Cynthia is the co-artistic director of Tempest Productions and also teaches writing at Penn State University.

The talented cast and crew include members of Actors' Equity, Screen Actors Guild, the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, Dramatists' Guild, and the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers. Also in the cast are 8 young actors ranging from ages 6-17: Liam Barredo (Hudson County), Stephanie Cowan (Middlesex County), Chloe Schaaf (NYC), Amanda, Danika & Erik Yarosh (Somerset County) and Emma & Sophie Whitfield (Staten Island).
